Q: Is Character Combine a free event?

A: Yes. Again, it is completely free. No hidden cost. Nothing sold. No pitches. No infomercials. Nothing for sale; just increased character awareness and practical tools for those who register PRIOR TO APRIL 1.  

For coaches who procrastinate and register after APRIL 1, a $10 per registrant fee will be applied.  This helps motivate coaches to get in quick.  After that, pay the price. Keep it free, get in early.

Q: Who is the main speaker?  

A: We are honored to have Sacramento Monarch's Head Coach Jenny Boucek.  Coach Boucek is driven, passionate, and an excellent communicator who's coaching principles transcend all sports at all levels.

Not only does she speak to professional athletes, she coaches to win in life.  As one of the WNBA's most sought after speakers, she coaches great athletes!

Q: Who are the other speakers?

A:   National High School Hall of Fame Coach Max Miller, Former Sacramento Athlete and National Speaker/Strategist Kevin Bracy, and Del Oro Head Coach Casey Taylor.

Character Combine Director Jason Harper will moderate, host and deliver the final session where Significance Awards will be given to some well deserving coaches.  It may be you.

Q:  “I don't know who my captain will be. Can I bring a different player?”

A: Yes. Coaches are encouraged to bring their captains.  However, we are looking for your most influential players to attend.  Bring the player who can best communicate what they learn and the peer level.

You can register any player of influence that is over the age of fourteen, and in at least ninth grade.

Q: Where is the Combine held this year?

A: Character Combine will be held at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, California.

The address is 1970 Broadstone Parkway, Folsom, CA 95630.

Note: Vista Del Lago High School is about 15 miles east of Sacramento past Rancho Cordova. From Highway 50 east or west: Take the E. Bidwell Street/Scott Road exit and go north on E. Bidwell. North of the highway, it is Bidwell Street. South of the highway, it is Scott Road. Proceednorth and three-fourths of a mile to Broadstone Parkway. Turn right (northeast) onto Broadstone Parkway. The school is on Broadstone about one mile east of Bidwell.

Q: Is there a Q & A panel this year?

A:  No.  Actually, this years format is stacked with five keynote speakers that represent different topics that transcend all sports.

Q: Will walk up registration be accepted?

A: Not at this time. We want to be flexible, but due to space limitations, we will close out registration on April 24, 2009.

Q: Breakfast? Gift bag?

A: Yes, yes, and yes.  This year each coach will receive a copy of Max Miller's new book, MAX IMPACT : Fifty Points of Impact from Fifty Years of Influence.  

Q: What time does the event start?

A: Event Check In is at 8:30 AM and Session One starts at 9:00 AM.  Character Combine Awards will be given in the last session.  The day finishes and gift bags are distributed at by 3:00 PM
